Weapon of choice

There are several diffrent types of weapons useable by rogues the most obvious being the dagger. Daggers are preffered by the assasination rogue in part because of the faster attack speeds and because the primary attack skills require daggers in both hands. There are many diffrent types of daggers curently available in end-game content so which should you seek for which hand? Your primary attack skill forces an attack with both weapons regardless of swing speed so the slower your dagger the higher the damage from the ability. This is because all weapons of the same item lvl have the same dps mechanic on them. Dps means damage per second such that a dagger swinging every 2 seconds doing 10 damage each time will have the same dps as one swinging every second for 5 damage. Your second most important skill is a forced attack with only your main hand dagger so a slow main hand is a must for both abilities, but what about your off-hand? As discussed in my previous post (Stacking Stats) assasination concentrates on poison damage which isn't affected by the damage range of a weapon. All dual wielding classes receive a slight decrease in the damage dealt by their offhand weapon but a rogues poisons deal damage per application so a faster off-hand is ideal given that only one of your attacks would benefit from a slower weapon. To sum it up, slow for main-hand and fast for off-hand will do you the best.
